About Equal Arts Micro-learning: Equal Arts is a European Cooperation Project (Erasmus KA210) designed to address gender equality in leadership and management roles across the performing arts, dance and media sectors. At its heart, the project turns real sector experience into practical digital learning tools that VET trainers and educators can use immediately. This unit sits down with selected (Best Practices, Spain) Jenny Vila, a creative producer, lighting designer, and founder of an independent physical theatre company based in Majorca, Spain. Across more than 25 years touring Europe, Australia, and beyond, she’s worked inside a sector that routinely places women in supporting roles, producing, administrating, enabling, while decision-making and credit flow elsewhere. What it costs to find your own voice inside structures not built for you, and what it means to keep going when passion alone doesn’t pay the bills. Why Mirco-learning, Equal Arts? Micro-learning works because it meets people where they are whether busy, or often self-employed, moving between projects and cities. But what makes this series a genuine best practice isn’t the format, it’s the source: Real Testimonies from women who’ve lived the leadership gaps, the Invisible Labour, and the Burnout that so much VET provision in the arts never names, let alone addresses. By centering lived experience over abstract theory, Equal Arts gives learners something rarer than advice, it gives recognition. And recognition is often the first step toward the systemic change these units are quietly asking for. From 15th September 2026, Equal Arts is going live with a three-part webinar series on Dance, Theatre, and the Media. Part 1: Skill Up Success and Opportunity Female Leadership, runs Tuesday 15th September, 5–6pm CET, in Italian/English. Part 2: InDance International’s “Dance Longer, Grow Stronger: Building a Sustainable Career in Dance,” follows on Thursday 17th September, 6–7pm CET, in English/Spanish. Part 3: turns the spotlight on Bruiser Theatre Company with Promoting Work Theatre: Beyond the Spotlight, a livestreamed panel discussion airing Tuesday 22nd September, 4–5pm (Irish Standard Time/BST) in English on YouTube, and Facebook Live.
