EQUAL ARTS 2024-2026
Equal Arts is a project by InDance International 🇪🇸 in partnership with organisations Skill Up, Italy and Bruiser, Ireland. We support the balance of Gender Equality in leadership and management roles in the “performing arts, dance and media” performing arts world. Our aim is the creation of New VET digital learning content, voted to support VET experts in stimulating the growth of specific skills and knowledge.
Aim:
Project Equal Arts, connects countries Spain, Italy and Ireland aiming at supporting Gender Equality balance, for Women aiming at managerial positions in the performing arts. Equal Arts wants to develop new digital training tools, to support VET trainers and teachers in engaging their students, through real-life work world based content, already aligned with the market needs; fostering Women’s access to the field of Management in the PA.
Activities:
Equal Arts Consortium will collect case studies and best practices, from work in the performing arts, to develop a Portfolio to collect them. From there, implement activities to develop a new Digital Training curriculum, on which to create a new Digital Learning Micro-course. Finally, the development of online and live stream Capacity Building events on a different scale, within which to be able to propose these new training tools to VET experts and learners, through training and discussion activities.
Project Equal Arts is an initiative of InDance International in partnership with Bruiser (Ireland) and Skill Up (Italy) dedicated to advancing gender equality for women in the performing arts. Through a dedicated newsletters, an online microcourse, the project builds knowledge, community, and practical tools that support women pursuing careers and vocational pathways in dance, theatre and media, performing arts sector.
We aim to:
- Promote equality and equal opportunity for women in the performing arts.
- Raise awareness of the specific barriers women face in dance training, vocational education, and professional performance careers.
- Build a supportive community connecting women, dance students, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) experts around shared goals of equity and access.
- Provide accessible, practical learning content through an online course and regular newsletter communications.
- Dance as a language for women’s expression, strength, and connection centered on female artistry, empowerment, and access to the performing arts for women of any age, background, or training.
